ABOUT ME

My name is Erin and I am a 19 year old student at Durham University. I am studing a BA in Classics.

My journey with books began as a small child when my parents read stories to me every night. The first book I remember was Happy Christmas Maisy and I would point out the robin on each page. Slowly but surely, I progressed to reading Enid Blyton's The Wishing Chair with my dad and then I was given a collection of Jane Austen's works on my 11th birthday by my mum, which cemented my interest in the world of literature.

The more I progressed through school, the more I realised the importance of reading. Spelling became easier, my vocabulary improved by leaps and bounds and my imagination never ceased to grow.

Through books we gain knowledge and through knowledge we gain power.

It seems only right that I should turn my passion for books into a career, and so this blog will be my first stepping stone into the industry of publishing. Whether that be in production, marketing or editorial I am yet to find out, but I am determined to find my way in so that in some way, somehow, I can make books accessible to people, so that they can be inspired by the power of reading the way I have in my life.

This blog aims to have something for everyone, whether you're looking for your next big read or just fancy a browse, I will be posting both reviews and pieces about contemporary fiction, modern classics, ancient literature, children's literature and anything in between.

Fun Facts About Me:

I am a 2nd Dan Black Belt in Wado Ryu Karate and love Rick Astley. I have the cutest dog on the planet and believe in sustainable fashion.  I also play Ultimate Frisbee (badly).
